Laura Linney is an American actress who is well-known for her performance of strong but vulnerable characters. In the summer, while working at the company of her father, Laura Linney became fascinated by theatre. Later she attended Brown University she studied acting as well as at Juilliard School, after which the career of her choice took off. Starting her acting career on the Broadway soon after graduation, she appeared in films within two years and on television within a year. Over the past few years she has appeared in a variety of film, TV as well as stage productions. There have been numerous awards in her long career. These include 4 Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, three Academy Award Nominations, and five Tony Award Nominations. Although she has received numerous nominations, she has a passion for theatre and has appeared on stage and screen.
